This very British cousin of the primrose with clusters of flowers on tall stems.

Description

Large primrose type leaves producing tall stems topped with pale yellow, slightly pendulous flowers.

Top tip: Enjoys a moist, well drained setting on a bank, in open woodland or in dappled shade. Grows happily in traditional meadows, and grassland.

Flowers: Late April – May

Height: 25-35cm

Propagation: Divide after flowering.

Soil conditions: Likes consistently damp but well drained basic soil.

Planting: Plant directly into soil.
