Description
Stratiotes aloides produce vigorous, stalkless rosettes of toothed, sword-shaped leaves up to 45cm in diameter. They remain mostly submerged, coming to the surface in early Summer to produce white or pinkish 3-petalled flowers.
Top tip: They can be invasive and are extremely brittle, so the leaves get damaged very easily.
Flowers: June-July
Height: 05-10cm
Propagation: Produce mini-plants which can easily be separated from the parent plant.
Depth of water over the soil: Mostly submerged
Planting: Free floating
